October 5, 2023 – Aston PA – Juan Namnun has been chosen as the 2023 KDI Fight Club Inductee, an accolade proudly announced by KDI Cares Foundation, the nonprofit arm of KDI Office Technology, at this year’s Pink Ball Golf Outing. Juan, a South Jersey native, has demonstrated remarkable strength while confronting male breast cancer, emerging as an inspiring role model for individuals coping with this uncommon condition.

Juan’s path veered unexpectedly as he detected an abnormality on his chest while enjoying a poolside moment. This discovery ultimately resulted in the diagnosis of male breast cancer, a condition seldom addressed in men. Despite his roles as a health and physical education teacher and a coach, Juan encountered uncharted waters in his journey.

With the support of his family and medical professionals, Juan embarked on a challenging journey of research and recovery. He realized that information on male breast cancer was lacking, and he decided to become a source of knowledge for others facing a similar path.

Juan’s journey took an even more critical turn when a second tumor was discovered during a double mastectomy. Fortunately, he received the news of remission before Christmas, bringing hope and joy to his family. His baseball team’s support and his 200th coaching victory further boosted his spirits.

Juan’s story gained national attention through Good Morning America, and he has since become a cancer survivor and advocate. He emphasizes the importance of breast cancer awareness regardless of gender.

The KDI Cares Foundation‘s Pink Ball Golf Outing aims to highlight that breast cancer affects both men and women. They stress the significance of regular self-check breast exams in the battle against this disease and work tirelessly to raise awareness that breast cancer knows no gender boundaries.
